Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Soothes Dry Eye Eyelids Too

Power of Water Relieves Dry Eye Symptoms. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Comforts Eyelids with Pure Water.

Dry eye disease is a growing health problem in a world that is warmer, drier and more polluted than ever before. Documented cases of dry eye disease continue to soar around the globe, especially among people 55 years of age and older and among children growing up in polluted urban centers. Dry eye’s symptoms—itching, redness, blurred vision, swelling, soreness—cause pain, anxiety, anger and frustration. These emotions and your subsequent reactions can affect your behavior at home. They can color your relationships with friends and they may create problems for you and others at work. On the job, dry eye disease damages your performance and leads to missed days due to illness. If the symptoms of dry eye disease continue unchecked, they can even lead to blindness, which is also a growing ocular health issue.

The physiological causes of dry eye include improperly functioning lachrymal and meibomium glands, inflammation and hormones influencing the nervous system. The result is loss of water to the all-important and highly complex tear film that covers and protects the eye and enables it to transmit light. The simplest way to alleviate dry eye symptoms and restore tear film moisture is with Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®. The purity and pH of the pure-water mist (100% Trade Secret tissue culture grade water), makes Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® ideal for rapid and beneficial absorption.

“Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is applied with a personal hand-held humidifying device,” Sharon Kleyne, founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Water Life Science® explained. “The portable humidifier emits a pure, pH balanced, 100% Trade Secret tissue culture grade water in a patented micron-size mist. It supplements the eye’s tear film, which is naturally 99 percent water.”

With Natures Tears® EyeMist®, tired and irritated eyes and eyelids are supplemented with pure water. Eye drops provide temporary chemical relief, but they can become addictive and even make the dry eye condition worse. Why? Because eye drops only trap water on the eye’s tear film; they do not supplement the tear film or the moisture (the tears) around it. They also leave the eyelids unnourished and unprotected.

Doctors and researchers have discovered that dry eye is often accompanied by dry eyelid skin and dry skin around the eyes. If eyes are not getting enough moisture, it’s likely that the skin isn’t, either. One of the places from which the tear film draws moisture is the eyelid skin. Many people who complain of dry eye symptoms also have dry, flaky and sore eyelids. In addition to moisturizing the eye’s tear film, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® also beneficially moisturizes any skin with which it comes into contact.

New Discoveries about Eyelids, Blink Rate, Dry Eye and Computers

Dry eye, in the United States and worldwide, is becoming a crisis. Eighty-percent of eye doctor patients complain of dry eye symptoms such as itching, burning, blurred vision, red eyes, headache and fatigue. The importance of the eyelid in dry eye has only recently been recognized. Researchers are discovering that if the tear film is dry, the eyelids will also be dry. This is especially true in chronic dry eye and in people who live in areas of extreme dry air or air pollution, or who spend a lot of time indoors.

The eyelid is critical in two areas of dry eye research:

1. Blink rate: Dry eye and tear film dehydration can result from a low rate of eyelid blinking. It may also result from an excessively high blink rate.

2. Eyelid health: The majority of dry eye patients have unhealthy and dry eyelids (blepharitis).
