Japanese Study Shows Coffee May Relieve Dry Eye Suffering

20 Apr

Sharon Kleyne Finds Caffeine Study Intriguing. Study Suggests Caffeine Helps Dry Eye Sufferers with Genetic Variations in Two Genes.

Sharon Kleyne tells us that dry eye disease affects more than 4 million people age 50 and older in the United States every year. This rampant condition occurs when the eye fails to produce enough tears or when tears are lost from the eye’s surface as a result of excessive evaporation. Unchecked, this condition can lead to more serious eye illness, even blindness.

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, developed by Kleyne and her research center at Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, is currently the only product that supplements dry eye with pure water and nothing else. Kleyne explained that Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is applied with a personal hand-held humidifying device emitting a pure, pH balanced, 100% Trade Secret tissue culture grade water in a patented micron-size mist. It supplements the eye’s tear film, which is naturally 99 percent water. “With Natures Tears® EyeMist®,” Kleyne said, “tired and irritated eyes are supplemented with pure water. Eye drops may provide some temporary chemical relief,” Kleyne continued, “but they can become addictive and even make the dry eye condition worse.” Why? Because eye drops only trap water on the eye’s tear lens; they do not supplement the tear lens or the moisture (the tears) around it. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® does supplement both.

Nature may have also provided, for some, another source of relief. According to AsianScientist, Dr. Reiko Arita of the University of Tokyo School of Medicine created a study based on an earlier study that showed that caffeine users had a lower risk of contracting dry eye disease than non-caffeine users. Like the previous study, Arita’s research showed that 13% of caffeine users had dry eye symptoms while 17% of non-caffeine users had dry eye symptoms. Caffeine is known to increase the secretion of saliva and digestive juices.

Arita’s team also analyzed DNA samples of participants. They were looking for two genetic variations known to play a role in metabolizing caffeine. Researchers found that participants with genetic variations in the ADORA2A AND CYP1A2 genes showed greater tear production after caffeine consumption. “If confirmed by more research,” Arita said, “our findings on caffeine should be useful in treating dry eye syndrome.”

Learning To Beat Your Dry Eyes. Dry Eyes Inflame Your Life & Can Cause Blindness.

With World Water Day gone by once again on March 22nd, it’s a perfect time to learn more about dry eye disease, which afflicts billions of people worldwide and can lead to blindness.

Dry eye disease symptoms include itching, blurring, burning, irritation, eyestrain, headache, and/or a ‘grainy’ sensation. The ultimate cause of dry eye disease is over-concentration of salt (electrolyte) due to moisture (water) loss in the tear film’s aqueous layer. When moisture is depleted, electrolyte and other substances become over-concentrated and discomfort results.

Some people turn to drugs for relief. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Inflammation along the edges of your eyelids can keep oil glands from secreting oil into your tears.” The clinic points out that antibiotics may be recommended to reduce inflammation. This treatment is usually administered orally, though sometimes eye drops or ointments are used.

If you have inflammation on the surface of your eyes (corneas), you may be given a prescription of eye drops that contain the immune-suppressing medication cyclosporine (Restasis) or corticosteroids. “Corticosteroids,” the Mayo Clinic cautions, “are not ideal for long-term use because of the potential side effects.

A third treatment described by the Mayo Clinic is eye inserts that work like artificial tears. If you suffer moderate to severe dry eye symptoms and have found that artificial tears don’t work, you may op for a tiny eye insert that looks like a clear grain of rice. Once a day, you place the hydroxypropyl cellulose (Lacrisert) insert between your lower eyelid and your eyeball. The insert will slowly dissolve, releasing a substance that is used in eye drops to lubricate your eye.

A fourth, somewhat macabre treatment described by the Mayo Clinic involves eye drops made from your own blood. Technically, the name for this is autologous blood serum drops. This may be an option if you have severe dry eye symptoms that don’t respond to other treatments. To make these eye drops, a sample of your blood is processed to remove the red blood cells and then mixed with a salt solution.

But unlike these chemical solutions, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® does not flood the tear film. When chemical eye drops do flood the tear film, they wash away the aqueous layer’s remaining water, lipids, proteins, electrolytes and antibodies. The tear film is naturally 99% water, and it must be supplemented or replenished for maximum eye health and comfort. There is only One water product that supplements lost tear film moisture and that product is Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®.

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® consists of 100% pure, tissue culture grade water and nothing else. The water is pH-balanced and biocompatible with the natural tear film. The micron-size mist, applied with a personal, hand-held humidifier, instantly rehydrates the tear film while also moisturizing the skin of the eyelids and the skin around the eyes. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is safe for infants and it does not ‘run’ eye make-up. It has a four-year shelf life and can be used as often as desired. Optometrists, physicians, research scientists and ophthalmologists around the world recommend Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® above any other product on the global market.

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, created by international water advocate Sharon Kleyne and her research center at Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, is so easy to use. For a demonstration, visit http://www.EyeMist.com. With eyes open, hold the canister (your personal humidifier) at the side of your face, near your eyes. Press the top of the canister to release the mist. With the canister 8 to 12 inches from your face, move the mist across the eyes in a one-to-two-second sweep. For natural humidity absorption, do not mist closer than 8 inches. Brief blinking is ok. Most people fully realize the convenience of Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® when they use it while driving. There is no muss and no fuss and it’s infinitely safer than using eye drops!

Remember that you can mist your eyes with Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® as many times a day as you feel the need to. You can order Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® today at http://www.Amazon.com, http://www.Walgreens.com or http://www.naturestears.com.

Dry Eye Disease Thrives On Lack Of Educations

Sharon Kleyne Says Dry Eye Related Blindness Can Be Stopped. Water Life Science® Advocate Sharon Kleyne Steps Up Education Effort.

“If we continue to stick our heads in the sand,” says Sharon Kleyne, host of the nationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on Voice America, “there will be 20 million more blind Americans than there should be by the year 2030.”

Sharon Kleyne points out that blindness statistics will rise because Americans have been slow to educate themselves about the perils of dry eye disease, which can lead to blindness. Those who already suffer from the symptoms of dry eye disease—redness, soreness, headaches, blurred vision, itchy eyes, sinus and lung irritation—know how debilitating it can be. Dry eye disease can wreak havoc on your productivity and performance at work and at play; it can also compromise your family life because the symptoms make you grumpy, depressed and can spark ugly incidents of domestic violence. Unfortunately, too many dry eye disease victims adopt a grin and bear it approach. Many seek relief in the stop-gap application of eye drops to the inflamed area, but eye drops provide only a temporary solution, if any solution at all (eye drops can become addictive and create other eye ailment issues because of their saline and chemical content).

The eye drop solution to dry eye is temporary because eye drops do not supplement the eye’s tear film (this tear film is naturally 99% water). Steady relief from dry eye disease requires this supplementation. In fact, only one product in the world provides this supplementation that addresses evaporation of the eye’s water vapor and that is Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® from the research center at Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®. Whereas eye drops wash away the tear film’s beneficial proteins, antibodies and protective lipid layer, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® delivers a patented micron mist that restores the tear film’s moisture. Against this product, dry eye disease rapidly retreats.

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® consists of pure tissue culture grade water and nothing else. This means that the water is clinically documented for suitability as a standardized tissue-culture medium in laboratory experiments. The hypotonic, low-osmolarity water has a slightly acidic pH-balance (6.4) and mineral content that are naturally biocompatible with the tear film of the eye. If you LEARN to use this product when dry eye disease creeps up on you, then you will greatly improve the odds that you will never go blind.

Order Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® from Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® and gain the peace of mind that you will not go blind because you ignored signals and failed to learn what you needed to in order to avoid the disaster of blindness.

Sharon Kleyne invites you to write to her personally about your experience with dry eye symptoms, dry eye disease and your use of Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® from Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®. “Wake up! Let’s get a dialogue going,” says Kleyne, “and share our holistic insights into new water technology and a new water lifestyle!”

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Wallops Dry Eye Disease

Sharon Kleyne Shows How Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Works. Water Life Science® Advocate Sharon Kleyne KO’s Dry Eye Disease.

Sharon Kleyne, host of the nationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on Voice America and founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, created Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® to knock the stuffing out of dry eye disease, which afflicts more than 250,000 Americans each year. 400,000 Chinese battle dry eye disease annually. The dry eye disease industry is costing more than a billion dollars a year, and it sometimes leads to blindness.

Sharon Kleyne has taught the world that the most common causes of tear film moisture loss (dry eye) are dry air, contact lenses, computers, forced air heating and air conditioning, air pollutions, prescriptions, stress, allergies and aging. When these causes attack, what does one do? Again, Kleyne teaches the solution. When tear film moisture becomes depleted due to evaporation, the one substance the tear film needs most is WATER, not chemicals or saline solutions. The dry eye needs to be supplemented and rejuvenated with pure water. The chemicals and saline solutions will mask the symptoms for a short time, but often they will exacerbate the problem, making the dry eye worse. Chemicals and saline solutions trap moisture rather than replenish it. They can also flood the tear film, which results in excessive moisture loss.

As Sharon Kleyne is always quick to point out, there is only ONE product that whips dry eye, only ONE product that supplements the eye with 100% all-natural pH balanced (6.49) tissue culture grade water, and that product is Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® from the research center at Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®.

Philip Y. Paden, MD, had this to say. “I have given a sample of Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® to 10 to 15 dry eye patients a day for the last 9 years (over 20,000 samples), along with samples of artificial tear drops from various manufacturers. Prior to Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, no other product generated nearly as much patient enthusiasm and no other product was as frequently described as the most effective available. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is not a compounded product, contains only water and does not cause burning or blurring.”

Sharon Kleyne says that researchers like herself has long known that the simplest and most natural way to soothe dry, puffy and irritated eyes is to add two-to-five-billionths of a liter of moisture (water) to the eye’s aqueous layer. has developed a system that emulates the air’s natural humidity by applying moisture as an ultra-fine, pH-balanced (7.0) water mist around the face rather than in the eyes. The mist droplets penetrate the lipid layer like saddle soap penetrates a saddle: The oils part, the droplets pass, and the oil closes. This new hydrotherapy discovery, for the first time, enables individuals to take personal control of dry eye disease through a simple and safe daily (or even hourly) moisture supplementation process.

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is easy and fun! You apply it with a personal hand-held humidifying device emitting a pure, pH balanced, 100% Trade Secret tissue culture grade water in a patented micron mist that will never flood the tear film..

Computer Eye Strain and Dry Eye Can Cost You Money, Productivity and Your Vision

1 May

If your eyes often bother you after a couple of hours at the computer, you are not alone. Computer eye strain, a form of dry eye disease, has become one of the most common reasons for eye doctor visits.

Eye health advocate Sharon Kleyne cautions that computer eye strain symptoms should never be ignored. Mrs. Kleyne is host of the Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water syndicated radio show, and founder of Bio-Logic Aqua Research.

Sharon Kleyne notes that the tear film of the eye is 99% water and that computer eye strain symptoms usually result from tear film water evaporation. Symptoms include tired, burning or itchy eyes, blurred vision, headaches, poor sleep and elevated stress. The good news, Mrs. Kleyne says, is that with a few common-sense precautions, including the following tips, computer eye strain can be relieved and even prevented.

  1. Have an annual professional eye exam.

  2. Drink at least eight glasses of water every day.

  3. Eat eye healthy foods (dark green leafy vegetables and foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids), exercise and fresh air regularly, and get sufficient sleep.

  4. Keep a hand-held air humidifier, plants and/or an open container of water near your desk. Because the air is dry, adding water (moisture) to the air reduces dry eye and natural water evaporation due to dehydration.

  5. Sip water while you work. Pour bottled water into a glass before drinking.

  6. Try to blink more often, taping a reminder to the computer if necessary. When working at a computer screen, your eyes’ blink rate can drop from 30 times per minute to three times per minute, which increases tear film water evaporation.

  7. Exercise your eye muscles by looking around the room at varying distances several times per hour (Take breaks away from your desk – outdoors if possible. Crack (or open) a window to let in fresh, humid air (indoor air can be dry, stale and dehydrating).

  8. Turn off lights that are too bright, especially fluorescent lights. Or switch to a desk lamp.

  9. Periodically throughout the day, moisturize the air around your eyes with a pH balanced (below 7.0), fine-mist eye spray.

The only all-natural, all-water, hand-held eye humidifying device with patented technology to supplement natural tear film water, is Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® from Bio-Logic Aqua Research, a sponsor of the Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water.

Natural Products News: A Pure Water MIST Alternative to Hydrate Dry Eyes

8 Mar

Nature’s Tears® EYEMIST® – All-Natural, Patented Alternative to Eye Drops for Dry Eyes and Tear Film Hydration.

(Grants Pass, Oregon. March 4, 2011) Breakthrough natural products news: After a decade of research and extensive nationwide market testing, Bio-Logic Aqua Research announces an all-natural alternative product for dry eye disease, red eye and irritated eyes.

  • Breakthrough United States patent. The technology behind this all-natural product was awarded the first US patent on the application of water as a fine mist to re-hydrate the natural tear film.
  • Supplemental moisture for dry eye disease. Research has discovered that in dehydration of the eyes, too much water (moisture) evaporates from the tear film’s aqueous layer. Nature’s Tears® EYEMIST® natural product alternative replaces only the lost water while leaving intact the complex natural protective tear film structure.
  • 100% all-natural water. The Nature’s Tears® EYEMIST® alternative contains 100% Bio-Logic Aqua® tissue culture grade water, discovered to be naturally correct for a fine MIST eyes application.
  • Safe and convenient. The personal portable hand-held device applies the EYEMIST® in seconds. No formulated chemicals, non-allergenic, 100% safe. No need to stop what you’re doing, tilt your head back or hold your eyelids open.
  • No dripping, no mess. With conventional eye drops, a single drop of artificial tears or redness reliever contains up to ten times the volume of the natural tear film. Eye drops are not all-natural products. Eye drops can flood the tear film and disrupt the natural lipid layer that slows moisture evaporation. It can also drip down the face and cause eye discomfort.
