Sharon Kleyne Describes New Technology Relief For Dry Eye

29 Sep

Radio Host Kleyne Explains Patented Micron-Size Mist. Kleyne’s New Water Technology Defeats Dry Eye Disease.

For decades, water researcher and educator, Sharon Kleyne, has earned respect and accolades from scientists, researchers, physicians and government officials around the world for her seminal work in the study of evaporation of earth’s and the body’s water vapor. She has been a leader in the study of water and health, as well as an expert on diseases such as dry eye disease. Kleyne has also been a pioneer in business as the founder and director of Bio-Logic Aqua® Water Life Science® in Grants Pass, Oregon.

It was there in her international research center that she and her team discovered the new water technology that has ophthalmologists and optometrists, among others, buzzing. “Dry eye,” Kleyne notes, “is the number one cause of eye doctor visits in the U.S. and is a growing global crisis. “Dry eye symptoms are the primary complaint of 80% of Ophthalmology patients in the United States,” says Kleyne. “As the global dry eye crisis worsens, personal eye humidifiers will one day become as indispensable to daily life as cell phones and toothbrushes. It will constitute a new water lifestyle.”

By teaching, Kleyne aims to clear up confusion and common misconceptions. For example, she explains that tear film water lost to evaporation cannot be replaced simply by splashing water into the eyes. The tap water’s “osmolarity” (a function of mineral content) could cause painful “osmotic shock.” Conjunctival and corneal epithelial cells on the eye’s surface require the tear film’s osmolarity to remain within a narrow range to maintain health and comfort. Osmotic shock can occur when the osmolarity of the tear film, or of any substance applied to the eyes (including water), falls significantly outside that range.

Kleyne discovered that osmotic shock can be virtually eliminated by using an additive-free, pure and natural water and by applying the water as an ultra-fine eye mist. The pure water replaces the lost tear film water and overcomes the potential for osmotic shock by diluting the tear volume with an exquisitely small, patented micron-size mist. Kleyne and her team were able to engineer the diameter of the mist droplets to within a 40-60 micron (millionths of a meter) range. When these micro-droplets land on the ocular surface, they pass directly through the overlying lipid (oil) layer and dilute the underlying water layer without washing away normal tear constituents. The eye mist application canister invented by Mrs. Kleyne delivers 1-2 microliters (millionths of a liter) per square centimeter per second at fourteen inches from the face. Since the average exposed ocular surface area is 2 square centimeters, this results in 2 microliters per second to the eye. “In 1 to 2 seconds,” Kleyne concludes,” the tear volume can be diluted sufficiently to restore normal osmolarity. Kleyne’s eye mist application, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, relieves dry eye by restoring the tear film’s normal surface osmolarity. By restoring the surface to a state of health, according to Kleyne, there should also be a beneficial effect on the lachrymal gland and a down-regulation of the inflammatory effects of dry eye.

Water Researcher Kleyne Shares Solution For Blurred Vision

28 Sep

Blurred Vision Is Dry Eye Symptom Says Kleyne. Dry Eye Blurred Vision Is Dangerous Says Kleyne.

The season is changing as the heat of summer finally relents and cooler temperatures prevail. But in the process more and more people are complaining about blurred vision. Sharon Kleyne, internationally respected for her groundbreaking water research and discovery of new water technologies, wants to educate you as to the reason for this increase in the incidents of blurred vision.

“To begin,” says Klyene, founder and director of Bio-Logic Aqua® Water Life Science®, “most of these cases are temporary and most are associated with dry eye disease. Blurred vision is a common symptom of dry eye.” Kleyne went on to explain that dry eye is more likely to occur in winter. Why is that? It’s because dry eye is more prevalent when cooler air can’t hold as much water vapor, the breath of life – also called “humidity” – as warmer air. The lower the humidity of the surrounding atmosphere, the greater will be the tendency of the liquid water in the vicinity to evaporate. This increased evaporation, says Kleyne, applies equally to lakes, puddles, wet sidewalks and the moist tear film covering the eyes. “When the tear film, which is 99% water, loses a portion of its water evaporation, or loses water for any reason,” Kleyne says, ”a condition develops called dry eye disease occurs.”

Blurred vision, according to Kleyne, occurs when the tear glands of the eyes attempt to compensate for the loss of tear film water to excess evaporation by flooding the eyes with reflex tears. As a result, the eyes become temporarily watery and this impairs light refraction. Dry eye may also cause dry spots on the cornea, the clear part of the eye. Since water is critical to light refraction, images transmitted through a corneal dry spot tend to be distorted and unclear. Closing the eyes briefly, or taking a short nap, will often clear up the problem.

According to Kleyne, host of the nationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on VoiceAmerica sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, blurred vision as a dry eye symptom is most likely to occur late in the day, in the presence of dehydrating factors such as smoke and pollution, or during an engrossing activity such as working at a computer. Other dry eye symptoms include itching and burning eyes, fatigue and headaches. Incidences of dry eye problems also increase when it is colder because more time is spent indoors, where insulated walls and windows and forced-air heating also dehydrate the tear film.

Kleyne wants everyone to know that blurred vision can be dangerous. She points out that eye injuries and eye irritation account for 85% of workplace injuries. The number one workplace complaint associated with eyes is blurred vision. Blurred vision can affect productivity and disorient workers. Yet, blurred vision is most commonly dangerous when driving at night. Lights can appear as streaks, making it more difficult to identify the brake lights on a car slowing down or the turn signal of a car changing lanes. Light streaks may also make it more difficult to see lane stripes and traffic signs.

However, there is a solution that Kleyne wants everyone to know about. Kleyne’s research center has developed a new technology, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, which is unique on the global market. The product is specifically designed to replace and supplement lost tear film moisture with Trade Secret tissue culture grade 100 percent natural, pure water. This pH balanced fresh water is delivered to the eye as a patented micron-size mist from a personal hand-held portable humidifier that is fun and easy to use. “Conventional eye drops trap moisture but do not replenish it,” says Kleyne. That’s why everyone should keep a supply of Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® on hand for those occasions when blurred vision and other dry eye symptoms attack.

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Soothes Dry Eye Eyelids Too

15 Sep

Power of Water Relieves Dry Eye Symptoms. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Comforts Eyelids with Pure Water.

Dry eye disease is a growing health problem in a world that is warmer, drier and more polluted than ever before. Documented cases of dry eye disease continue to soar around the globe, especially among people 55 years of age and older and among children growing up in polluted urban centers. Dry eye’s symptoms—itching, redness, blurred vision, swelling, soreness—cause pain, anxiety, anger and frustration. These emotions and your subsequent reactions can affect your behavior at home. They can color your relationships with friends and they may create problems for you and others at work. On the job, dry eye disease damages your performance and leads to missed days due to illness. If the symptoms of dry eye disease continue unchecked, they can even lead to blindness, which is also a growing ocular health issue.

The physiological causes of dry eye include improperly functioning lachrymal and meibomium glands, inflammation and hormones influencing the nervous system. The result is loss of water to the all-important and highly complex tear film that covers and protects the eye and enables it to transmit light. The simplest way to alleviate dry eye symptoms and restore tear film moisture is with Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®. The purity and pH of the pure-water mist (100% Trade Secret tissue culture grade water), makes Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® ideal for rapid and beneficial absorption.

“Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is applied with a personal hand-held humidifying device,” Sharon Kleyne, founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Water Life Science® explained. “The portable humidifier emits a pure, pH balanced, 100% Trade Secret tissue culture grade water in a patented micron-size mist. It supplements the eye’s tear film, which is naturally 99 percent water.”

With Natures Tears® EyeMist®, tired and irritated eyes and eyelids are supplemented with pure water. Eye drops provide temporary chemical relief, but they can become addictive and even make the dry eye condition worse. Why? Because eye drops only trap water on the eye’s tear film; they do not supplement the tear film or the moisture (the tears) around it. They also leave the eyelids unnourished and unprotected.

Doctors and researchers have discovered that dry eye is often accompanied by dry eyelid skin and dry skin around the eyes. If eyes are not getting enough moisture, it’s likely that the skin isn’t, either. One of the places from which the tear film draws moisture is the eyelid skin. Many people who complain of dry eye symptoms also have dry, flaky and sore eyelids. In addition to moisturizing the eye’s tear film, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® also beneficially moisturizes any skin with which it comes into contact.

Kleyne Weighs In On Dry Eye Complaint & Menopause

14 Sep

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Soothes Dry Eye Symptoms Brought on By Menopause. Millions of Menopausal Women Turn to Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® for Relief.

Menopause is challenging enough for women to negotiate, but how many know that this natural transformation associated with aging often triggers—during and after menopause—excessive dry eye disease? How does that happen? It happens like this. The meibomian glands produce oil, which ensures stability of the lachrymal (or tear) film. Yet, as we age the glands produce less and less oil; during menopause, the glands may cease oil production altogether. When the oil from the glands is ineffective or altogether missing, the tear film becomes unhealthy. Excessive evaporation weakens the tear film and dry eye disease is the result.

Sharon Kleyne, founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® and host of the nationally syndicated The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on VoiceAmerica sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, wants you to know that 16.8 million Americans over the age of 18 have been diagnosed this year (2017) with dry eye disease; twice as many women than men are afflicted. Menopause in large part contributes to this greater number of women diagnosed with dry eye disease. Dry eye symptoms may include itching and burning eyes, blurred vision, headache, fatigue, a “grainy” feeling in the eyes and eye discomfort.

Kleyne and her co-researchers and workers at Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® advocate taking personal proactive responsibility for your health. When it comes to a menopausal dry eye condition, it means finding a way to replenish lost tear film moisture that is effective, all-natural, quick, easy and convenient to apply. Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® has developed just such a product: Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®. This breakthrough application represents an entirely new approach to eye moisturizing. It is a pure Trade Secret tissue culture grade water; it’s a self-limiting (your eye takes in only as much as it needs) patented micron-size mist rather than a formulated medication applied with an eyedropper. No matter your age or gender, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® allows you to take personal proactive control over dry eyes and offers instant, personal, portable relief anywhere. If you are experiencing menopause, it’s wise to keep close at hand a supply of Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® for those crucial times when your eye’s tear film is just too dry to tear up.

Kleyne’s Advice For Dry Eye When You Fly

14 Sep

What To Do about Airline Flights When They Dry Out Your Eyes. 30,000 Feet Is a Difficult Atmosphere for Human Eyes.

It seems that almost everybody complains about flying commercially these days. Delays, long lines and dry air have drained all of the fun out of the flying experience..

Another severe challenge to flying commercially is what happens to your eyes during a flight. You don’t have to be in the plane long to notice that your eyes feel dry and irritated, your nasal passages, too. Perhaps you notice a headache coming on. As the flight drones on, maybe you feel increasingly tired and dry in the mouth and eyes.

Welcome to contemporary air travel! What is happening to you in the confines of that plane is excessive moisture evaporation causing dehydration. When as a baby you spurted out of your mother’s watery womb, you began a process of evaporation that continues until you die. In an airplane, you find yourself in an environment that mercilessly speeds up that process. It doesn’t take much water vapor loss to afflict you. The loss of only two or three nano-liters (billionths of a liter) of moisture from the eye’s tear film can result in eye strain, itching, burning and redness, headache dry eyes and fatigue.

But all is not lost. Sharon Kleyne, founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® and host of the nationally syndicated The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on VoiceAmerica sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, has some sound advice.

Klyene recommends frequent misting of the eyes with Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® that you can carry on board because it helps alleviate dehydration symptoms. Dry eyes become moist, dry and itchy skin becomes fresh and cool, saliva starts flowing; eye make-up regains its luster and headaches often vanish instantly. Contact lenses can often be much more comfortably worn on-board planes by also misting the eyes whenever discomfort is felt. Nature’s Tears EyeMist is Trade Secret tissue culture grade pure water that is applied to the tear film and eye by a portable, personal hand-held humidifier that delivers a patented micron-size mist of pure water.

It feels so good and works so fast and it lasts, too!

Kleyne also recommends that flyers drink as much water as possible before and during flights. Avoid alcohol and caffeine. Both are dehydrating and contribute to headache and fatigue.
Exercise by standing or walking up and down the aisles. Yes, airline travel can be a draining experience and can cause jet lag, but if you follow these Kleyne tips and use Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® along the way, you may walk off that plane feeling like you actually flew first-class!

Seniors Seek Help For Dry Eye Condition

6 Sep

Sharon Kleyne Says We’re Responsible for Seniors’ Eye Health. National Senior Citizens Day a Good Time To Remember Vision Concerns.

National Senior Citizens Day visited us again a couple of days ago and once more we heard from coast to coast millions of aging voices asking for help with persistent, painful dry eye symptoms that are especially intense among our elders worldwide.

Sharon Kleyne, founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® and the creator of Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, knows that millions of people around the world suffer from Dry Eye Disease, yet no demographic suffers as much as people 65 years-and-older. Senior citizens are especially vulnerable and are much more likely to experience eye problems such as mild eye strain, severe pain, blurred vision, inflamed eyes, dizziness, headaches, glaucoma, cataracts and blindness. Dry Eye Disease plays a serious role in all of these conditions as the water vapor covering the tear film of the eye, which is 99 percent water, evaporates due to several factors such as allergies, pollution and artificial environments.

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is the result of advanced research by Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, the company Kleyne founded to study evaporation of earth’s water vapor due to contamination of the atmosphere by pollution, global temperature change and artificial environments. Kleyne’s research and the technological innovations of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®’s Research Center have created a new water lifestyle that restores and recycles water vapor to the eye and is becoming as common globally as brushing one’s teeth.

Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®’s Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® replaces the eye’s water vapor lost to evaporation with a patented micron-mist that is applied with a patented hand-held, personal humidifier. The Trade Secret tissue culture grade water is painless and has no side effects. It is fun to use for people of any age, and it can bring special relief to senior citizens. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is the first product of its kind to gain access into the medical field after test marketing in 70,000 drugstores and retail stores.

Kleyne, who also hosts of The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Warming and Your Health radio program, wished senior citizens everywhere happiness and eye health on their national day and encouraged them to seek relief from dry eye disease with the widely researched and scientifically tested Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® from Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®. “Your eyes are precious,” Kleyne said. “Be sure to mist them several times a day with Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®.”
